![]() ![]() Ok if you can commit to a regular contract, mend PCs (if needed - replace hard drive etc) and install software that is not all plug and play. The cheapest method (mine) is a box (broadband + free calls to fixed phones), old PC (linux OS) and a fixed phone. Others manage with phone, no data, and have to visit the library in the next town to use internet. Most clients need the internet, use a PAYG phone( help from French state needs the internet) and end up paying through the nose for it. I volunteer handing at a food distribtion centre for the very poor. During COVID lock down people donated old PCs to children without a PC which were too old to be used (!) : I assume for MS/Mac OSs ?Ĭosts - Internet/data on mobiles devices expensive. OS upgrades which require a 'newer' device. I diverge but there is a growing internet/broadband access problem : Phone ? What phone/tablet ? Only internet access is a very old PC.
